Bordeaux 2019 Brochure

50. Château Faugères, St‑Émilion Grand Cru “The 2019 Faugères is one of the most elegant wines I have ever tasted from Silvio Denz's Saint-Émilion estate. Silky, aromatic and super-expressive, Faugères is absolutely exquisite. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, dried flowers and cinnamon are some of the many nuances that open in the glass. There is plenty of the textural richness readers have come to expect over the years, but the 2019 is less over the top than some previous vintages. And that's a good thing. Drinking Window: 2027 - 2044.” 95 pts, Vinous 390840 $100 51. Château Ferran, Pessac‑Léognan “The 2019 Ferran is laced with savory herb, tobacco, mint, dried leaves and earthy notes, all of which add nuance to a core of dark and blackish fruits. This soft, understated 2019 is nicely done. It will drink well right out of the gate. Drinking Window: 2022 - 2034.” 90 pts, Vinous 390805 $45 52. Château Ferrière, Margaux (L) “Blackberries, blackcurrants, violets, bitter chocolate, clay and gravel on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with firm, very fine and integrated tannins. Beautiful texture. Structured, yet with a soft, supple feel. Subtle. 20% in concrete eggs. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 5% petit verdot. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Try in 2025.” 96 pts, James Suckling 392764 6 bottle limit $110
