118. Château de Fieuzal Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan

“The 2020 Blanc from de Fieuzal is performing very well in bottle, exhibiting aromas of peach and nectarine mingled with hints of mint, pastry cream and citrus zest. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it’s a bright, elegantly fleshy wine that’s a touch finer-boned than the glossier, more textural 2019. Bottled under Diam 30, this cuvée continues to prove itself as one of the more interesting dry whites produced in contemporary Bordeaux. Drink Date: 2022 - 2043.” 93 pts, Wine Advocate 465752 $110 119. Château de France Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan “Typically, the production of white Pessac-Léognan comes from rare parcels of chalky soils. This wine has the same provenance. It is mainly Sauvignon Blanc, wood aged and with ripe white-fruit flavors that are cut with citrus. The wine is young, so drink from 2025.” 93 pts, Wine Enthusiast 433225 $55 120. Château La Garde Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan “A creamy white with lots of dried lemon, apple and a stone undertone. It’s medium-bodied with a lovely, solid core of fruit and a flavorful finish. More subtle than the 2019 and the 2018.” (92-93) pts, James Suckling 371787 $58 121. Les Hauts de Smith Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan “The 2020 Les Hauts de Smith Blanc is a very pretty wine that shows the richer side of Sauvignon Blanc off to great effect. Pear, white peach, tangerine oil and sweet floral notes are nicely delineated. This has come together nicely with élevage. The balance of rich, textured fruit and brightness is impeccable. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2035.” 92 pts, Vinous 465862 $80
