114. Le Comte de Malartic Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan

“This is the new name for the second wine of Malartic Lagraviere. The 2020 Le Comte de Malartic Blanc blend is 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, with an alcohol of 14%. It leaps from the glass with vibrant citrus notes of freshly squeezed lemon, lime zest and grapefruit oil, plus hints of wet pebbles, nutmeg and pear drops. The medium-bodied palate has a pleasant suggestion of oiliness to the texture with a lively backbone supporting the citrusy flavors, finishing with a spicy kick. Drink Date: 2022 - 2028.” (88-90) pts, Wine Advocate 362338 $55 115. L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan “The 2020 L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a taut, stony nose with orchard fruit, dewy meadow and light citrus peel aromas, quite linear and shrugging off the warmth of the summer. The palate is well- defined with a slightly honeyed note, the Sémillon more in the driving seat despite representing 40% of the blend. Fine tension on the finish with moderate length, this is a very capable Deuxième Vin. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2033.” 89 pts, Vinous 362515 $68 116. Clos Floridène Blanc, Graves “The late Denis Dubourdieu was a leader in developing Bordeaux white wines. His family carries on his legacy in this smooth, creamy and rounded wine. Acidity and fresh citrus come through at the end. Drink from 2023.” 93 pts, Wine Enthusiast 362346 $55 117. Château Ferran Blanc, Pessac‑Léognan “The 2020 Ferran Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon, weighing in at around 13% alcohol. It skips out of the glass with cheery notes of fresh pineapple, white peaches and lemon tart, plus touches of lime leaves and grapefruit peel. The light to medium- bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, delivery bags of bright citrusy flavors and a chalky finish. Drink Date: 2023 - 2030.” (90-92) pts, Wine Advocate 362333 $45
