O n September 27, 2025, BC LIQUOR will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the annual Bordeaux Release. Since 1985, the event has evolved to become a key marker on the calendar, uniting many departments in BCL in order to bring the latest vintage to our customers. We are excited this year as the new vintage, 2022, is an excellent one with ripeness, finesse and “sense of place”. Bordeaux collectors and enthusiasts among you will remember that vintage 1982, the one featured in the first Release, was one of the greatest of all time in the region. We are thrilled to have been able to source a selection of ’82s this year to complement our offering. As in all wine regions around the world, annual weather conditions in Bordeaux are less predictable than ever. While rain and spring frost were factors in 2021, 2022 adhered more to the overall trend of hotter and drier. As the grapes matured under very warm conditions, Châteaux worried about water stress in the vineyard and its effect on the resulting wines. Would flavours be overripe and lacking the precision that is necessary for top quality; would the sugar ripeness be achieved too quickly, not giving time for the tannins to mature? The results are both unexpected and extraordinary. The vines have shown a amazing ability to adapt to conditions, regulating their own growth and ripening. Could this be the result of the climate changing and nature doing her best to adapt? We don’t know for sure, but the wines from 2022 are delicious. They have the expected concentration and power but are balanced by surprising freshness. Many reds will offer pleasure in the short term but will really come into their own with some time in the cellar. Moreover, the wines express their terroir, or the particular characteristics of the sites where the grapes were grown; a key factor in making Bordeaux the renowned region it is. Top international journalists have shown their enthusiasm for 2022 by assigning some excellent ratings to the wines. Amongst major publications like Wine Advocate (WA) Wine Spectator (WS), Decanter and Vinous , there are several wines in the high 90s and even some 100 points wines. Because of BCL’s long standing relationships with Bordeaux producers and négociants , we have been able to secure some very special bottles including Châteaux Montrose (100 pts WA and Vinous ),
1
Figeac (100 pts WA and Decanter ) and Carmes-Haut Brion (100pts by WA, Decanter and Vinous ). The overall strength and consistent quality of the vintage means that customers have a range of price bands from which to choose. Châteaux du Taillan, Verdignan and Ferran all offer good value under $50 and could be fun choices if you are just starting to build a wine cellar. These will benefit from 2-5 years in bottle, whereas more age worthy selections like Château Pontet-Canet and Clos Fourtet will develop beautifully over the next decade. The intensity of the heat in 2022 means that whites are opulent and flavourful. Most are delicious now and will provide pleasure for the next 5 years. In addition to classics like Château Pape-Clement and Château Smith Haut Lafitte, there are rare and special treats like Aile d’Argent and Blanc de Lynch Bages. The Sauternes this year are gorgeous and concentrated; one of the favourites of the Product Consultants is Château Coutet with dense peach, tropical citrus and sweet herbal notes. To celebrate the anniversary of the Release as well as the longevity of fine Bordeaux, we have sourced an exclusive selection of 1982s. The 1982 wines were purchased directly from Bordeaux where they have been aging to perfection for over 40 years. Châteaux Lagrange, Beychevelle, Cos d’Estournel and Lafite-Rothschild are among the 1982s that will be available in tiny quantities. While these iconic wines will continue to hold for several years, they are stunning to drink now. Look for a combination of tertiary (coffee, earth, spice, licorice and cedar) to complement the black fruits that you know and love from Bordeaux. Factors have combined to make this one of the most exciting wine releases BC LIQUOR has ever done. We hope that you will join us on September 27 th to browse the selections and enjoy the complimentary tastings at participating stores. Bordeaux stores will open at 8:00am and Product Consultants will be on hand to offer advice.

Vertical Tasting One of the fascinating things about Bordeaux wine is the variation between vintages. Warm weather vintages will often yield rich, full-bodied and fruit-driven wines, while cooler vintages will often result in more earthy, dried herbal and savoury wines. Conducting a vertical tasting consists of getting together a number of different vintages of the same wine and comparing them. Being able to create vertical tastings is one of the benefits of having a cellar and buying the same wines every vintage. Taste blind and see if you can taste the difference in warmer versus cooler years. Storing Bordeaux Wine Many Bordeaux wines are known for their ability to age, so it is important that they are stored correctly. The key element of storage is to have a cool, constant temperature, ideally around 13-14°C (55-57°F). The constant part is more important than the exact temperature. This allows a wine to age gracefully, developing all of the complex flavours and aromas you would come to expect. The wine should be kept away from bright light that may heat the wine or fade the labels. Anything sealed with a cork should be on its side to keep the cork from drying out. You may be lucky enough to have a cool basement with ideal cellaring conditions or you may choose to purchase a wine cooler that controls temperature and humidity. Great Pairings with Bordeaux While the vast majority of Bordeaux wine is dry red, there are some high quality dry white and sweet botrytis-affected dessert wines, such as Sauternes, that are also produced.
3
4
Red Bordeaux : These wines have structure and power and are best paired with robust red meats. Classic pairings are roast or grilled beef or roast leg of lamb. Wines that have some age pair well with roast game birds or duck. White Bordeaux : Often partially oak-aged and rich, yet still lively and refreshing, these wines are best paired with rich white fish, lobster or roast chicken stuffed with lemons. Sauternes : Rich and sweet, these wines pair beautifully with peach-, pear- or apple- based desserts, crème brûlée and foie gras. Try with blue cheese for a savoury option. Decanting There are two main reasons for decanting wine. The first is to remove any sediment that has formed during the ageing process. The second is to aerate a young wine to hopefully soften up some of its rough edges, making it taste smoother and smell more aromatic. To aerate a young wine, simply pour the bottle into a decanter, not worrying if it splashes in and gets plenty of air. To remove sediment, a bottle should first sit upright for around 24 hours to let any sediment gently settle to the bottom. Carefully open the bottle without disturbing the sediment. Pour the wine slowly and steadily into the decanter, watching the shoulder of the bottle and stopping when you see sediment appearing or when the wine looks cloudy. Old corks can often crumble in which case you can use a filter to catch any pieces of cork. A candle or flashlight shining on the shoulder of the bottle makes it easier to see the sediment. A general rule is that the older and more delicate the wine, the shorter the time should be between decanting and serving as older wines can lose their freshness quickly. Left Bank or Right Bank? Bordeaux is situated around the Gironde estuary and its two rivers the Dordogne and Garonne. The area west of the Gironde and Garonne is known as the Left Bank while the Right Bank is the name used for the vineyards located on the north and east side of Gironde and the Dordogne. In between the two rivers is the Entre- Deux-Mers appellation. The Left Bank is where Cabernet Sauvignon is usually the dominant variety in the red blends and is the home of the famous appellations of the Médoc such as St‑Estèphe, Pauillac, St‑Julien and Margaux as well as those further south – Pessac‑Léognan and Graves. The Right Bank châteaux are generally smaller and the climate and soils are more suited to Merlot and Cabernet Franc rather than Cabernet Sauvignon. The famous appellations of the Right Bank are St‑Émilion and Pomerol. Rhys Pender, MW

1982 Vintage Bordeaux

Château Beychevelle 1982, St‑Julien (L) “An expressive nose - heady and evocative still - a marker of the ripe, plush and powerful 82s when they were born. Floral and fragrant with red and black fruit, some baked cherries and soft caramel notes alongside leather and cigar box. Determined and sinewy on the palate, tannins are sharp, full and focussed. A lovely frame and sense of style, this has bite and tang with licks of wet stone, graphite, slate and pencil lead all combining alongside liquorice. This still has lots of life yet. Stylish and confident, vibrant and energetic still with excellent weight. Extremely enjoyable, in its prime but by no means tired - lots of life yet.” Tasted May 27, 2023 95 pts, Decanter 343515 1 bottle limit $800

Well defined, elegant and graceful on the palate, instantly mouthwatering with something special about the vibrancy and liveliness that captivates straight away. It’s sensual yet tangy, plush yet with bite and grip. Persistent with real terroir markers and such effortless enjoyment. Cos d’Estournel 1982, St-Estèphe (L)
“This wine is a lovely example of the potential and longevity of the 1982 vintage below the first growth level. Although it shows mature notes of cedar, smoke, and spice, this wine is still youthful and vigorous. The texture is firm yet silky – the tannins are resolved, yet there is still an impression of substance and impressive length here. Although it is mature now, this should easily hold another five to 10 years.” Tasted September 2, 2022 96 pts, Decanter 304562 1 bottle limit $1,500 Château Durfort-Vivens 1982, Margaux (L) “The 1982 must be among the most seductive wines this estate has recently made. It boasts a big, lovely, ripe, rich, black currant bouquet, deep, supple, concentrated flavors, a long finish, and adequate tannin for another 5-8 years of cellaring. The 1982 marked a dramatic turnabout in the quality of this estate’s wines. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted, 1/90.” Tasted December 31, 1997 87 pts, Wine Advocate 304553 1 bottle limit $2,000

Château Lafite Rothschild 1982, Pauillac (L) “A demure yet confident beauty, the 1982 Lafite is in its prime and will delight anyone privy to an audience. Scents of tobacco, sandalwood and spice box waft with increasing intensity as this sits in the glass, then it floats across the palate leaving a persistent trail of stony minerals: flint and graphite along with preserved cherries are laced with sweet, smoky incense, and radiant acidity gives a perception of weightlessness while shedding light on the wine’s depths. So effortlessly and elegantly framed, and as exquisitely perfect as this is now, there is nothing to suggest it will fade any time soon.” Tasted May 26, 2023 100 pts, Decanter 343523 1 bottle limit $12,800

Château d’Armailhac, Pauillac “Rich and toasty nose with sun-kissed blackcurrants, liquorice, tobacco, and a touch of tar. Some warmth and baked fruit add a jammy edge. Supple yet lively, with chewy fruit offset by juicy acidity and a salty, powdery minerality. A little tight but appealing, with a fresh minty lift. The 16% Cabernet Franc is unusual for Pauillac but gives a strong backbone. Less clay than the other estates, leaving a richness on the finish that reflects the vintage.” 95 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 327935 $135

Château Arômes de Pavie, St‑Émilion Grand Cru
“Incredibly intense and exotic aromatics - ripe purple fruits, damsons, plums, blackcurrants, and floral notes. Rich red-purple hue. Layers of coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, and clove. Silky yet textured, almost chewy but in a delightful way, filling the mouth with acidity and pure fruit. Bouncy, charming, and well-balanced, with a serious core beneath its playful energy. Fleshy and ripe tannins have a liquorice and salty edge which combine to give both a sense of richness and mineral bite while soft acidity and cool blue fruit add freshness and lift. A lovely balance between the clear power and seduction of Pomerol in hot vintages but with a light touch in terms of density. Feels really well made, precise and poised. Château Bel-Air Jean & Gabriel, Lussac-Saint-Émilion “Notably less oaky, the 2022 Cuvée Jean & Gabriel from Château Bel-Air reveals a deep, complex bouquet of spices, smoke, licorice and oak mingled with notes of dark berries. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and generously extracted, it has a fleshy core of fruit wrapped in an assertive tannic frame that finishes long and spicy. Château Bélair-Monange, St‑Émilion Grand Cru
“A smoky nose filled with aromatic blackcurrants, violets, dark chocolate, vanilla cream and clove. Deep, layered and cooling, this is a gentle giant - you can feel the waves of power and the depth of flavour but it’s so calm and controlled. Wonderfully finessed tannins, pure black bramble fruit and appealing crushed stone elements. Extremely classy, this feels so well executed, a restrained hand in terms of winemaking and oak given the integration of the tannins and beautiful cool and fresh tones from start to finish. Less overt acidity than some, this really focuses on the construction and layering of elements. Serious but seductive. A sophisticated wine that belies the vintage conditions.” 98 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 328524 $375 Château Belgrave, Haut-Médoc “Strongly scented with florals and dark purple fruit. Glossy and ripe, its fruit pulsing with energy. Juicy acidity and stony minerality add depth and tension. Nuanced, vibrant and expressive, extending vertically with precision and finesse. This is one of the most muscular, broad- shouldered vintages of Canon in recent years, but it retains every bit of its limestone-driven identity. …this is an estate that is delivering its greatest run of vintages since the superb Post War series that preceded the frosts of 1956, and the 2022 is indeed reminiscent of a modern day version of one of those great years.” 100 pts, William Kelley, Wine Advocate 273188, 372761 $375

Château Canon la Gaffelière, St‑Émilion Grand Cru “This starts off with tender raspberry coulis, rooibos tea and savory notes, then slowly builds tension and cut as it moves along, with a long, chalky thread running underneath. A lithe, lacy wine that moves with the grace of a gentle breeze. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet
Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2038.” 95 pts, James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 348646

Château Cantenac Brown, Margaux
“Ripe and filling, I love the almost instant hit of cool but juicy blue fruits and salty liquorice that expands onto the palate and settles on the finish. Tannins support the fruit, adding texture and depth to the expression, but this retains a sleek frame and direct core of flavour. Lovely energy and focus with precision. It’s a little more streamlined than some others in Margaux, less bouncy, and more sleek but nicely detailed without any one element being over the top.” 96 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 272612 $135 Cap de Faugères, Bordeaux “The 2022 Cap de Faugères has a sprightly, quite opulent bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and violet scents, cohering nicely in the glass with its well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied and lightly spiced with sapid black fruit, fine delineation and a lovely saline

“The 2022 Carbonnieux, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, exudes a complex, attractive bouquet of spices, dark berries, flowers and oak. Medium to full- bodied, concentrated and fleshy, it’s satiny and ample with structured, youthful tannins and a lovely oaky finish. It remains an excellent Carbonnieux that should age gracefully over the years.” 93+ pts, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate 272597, 348634 $90

Le Carillon d’Angélus, St‑Émilion Grand Cru
“Deep and heady aromatics of blackcurrants, plums, and liquorice, lifted by delicate floral notes. The palate is smooth, succulent, and juicy, rich in flavour complexity yet light in density. Gorgeous, ultra-fine tannins glide effortlessly, giving this a silky, mineral-driven expression. The interplay of salty cherries, crushed stones, and fresh mint makes for a joyful, moreish wine with energy and refinement. Hands-off in style but full of depth, this is a delicious and elegant second wine that drinks beautifully now. 60% new oak. 3.65pH.” 94 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 332732 $275

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion, Pessac‑Léognan “The 2022 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is the finest wine bottled to date at this estate under Patrice Pichet’s ownership and Guillaume Pouthier’s direction. Unfurling from the glass with aromas of violet, iris, dark wild berries, pencil lead and mulberries, it’s medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated with a deep core of fruit beautifully framed by velvety, precise tannins, segueing into a long, saline and perfumed finish. Suave and harmonious, it was crafted with 70% whole bunches and matured in 70% new oak. This unconventional blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot represents a turning point for the estate, cementing its rapid

43 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac (L) “Cherry aromas burst from the glass - bright, open, and inviting - layered with bitter chocolate, tobacco, cedar, and a subtle spice. The texture is remarkable: deep yet soft, with seamlessly integrated tannins that provide a silky powderiness, filling the mouth with both volume and finesse. A serious wine, yet it retains an effortless energy, its vibrant acidity lifting waves of red cherry and strawberry. Layered, lively, and utterly gorgeous, this is a Carruades that shines with classicism and charm. 16% press wine.” 94 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 346216, 348643 6 bottle limit $600 44 Château Certan de May, Pomerol “This is a touch exotic in style, with dark and winey blackberry, boysenberry and mulberry compote flavors forming the core, while anise, cocoa, alder and Christmas pudding notes add an exotic backdrop. Caressing and seductive through the gently toasted finish. A smoky eye Pomerol. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2040. 46 Château la Chapelle aux Moines, St‑Émilion Grand Cru “Dating back to the 19th century, this estate to the east of Saint-Emilion has produced a generous wine. Blending Merlot, the two Cabernets and a pinch of Malbec, the wine is ripe with a licorice aroma and a fine structure. It is a big wine from a tiny property that should age well. Drink from 2028.” 92 pts, Wine Enthusiast 319660 $45

Château Chasse-Spleen, Moulis-en-Médoc
“Juicy and fleshy, this has a soft bouncy core of ripe blackcurrant fruit with menthol, spiced herb and clove accents. Tannins are grippy in just the right places and this has a wide and open mouthfeel. It’s on the plush side in terms of texture but maintains a cool and fresh core. Enjoyable. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend.” 93 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 332888 $85
48 Château Cheval Blanc, St‑Émilion Grand Cru
“Loganberry, boysenberry and blackberry compote notes give the core an almost outsized feel, but there’s restraint and focus, as touches of warm loam, licorice root and smoldering tobacco keep this well-grounded. There’s cut and drive too, even though this is dense and slow-moving, with alder smoke, Turkish coffee and bittersweet cocoa checking in. Then a lilting black tea and violet backdrop emerges at the very end, adding grace and sensuality. A marvelous expression of a distinctive vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2028 through 2050.” 99 pts, James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 332770 1 bottle limit $1,800

Give it time to digest its élevage.” 93 pts, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate 372701 $400 50 Château Clerc Milon, Pauillac “Aromas of sweet crème de cassis, licorice, violets and creamy new oak introduce the 2022 Clerc Milon, a full-bodied, rich and layered wine that’s deep and vibrant, with ripe, integrated tannins and lively acids, concluding with a long finish. As I wrote en primeur , its clay-limestone terroir lends it a distinctive signature that sets it apart from the rest of the portfolio.” 95 pts, William Kelley, Wine Advocate 272656 $220

Château Clinet, Pomerol “Richly aromatic, quite heady notes on the nose of blackcurrants, violets and dark chocolate. Silky smooth and really juicy on the palate, fun and fresh. I love the purity to the red berries with both a subtle creaminess as well as razor sharp edges of graphite and liquorice minerality that give a tang and buzz to the palate. The energy here is lovely, really alive and focused with a clean sensation on the finish. Well delivered with

Clos l’Église, Pomerol “The 2022 Clos L’Eglise is quite the powerhouse. It offers up copious inky dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, new leather and licorice. The richness of the year is very much in evidence in this full-throttle, opulent Pomerol. Of all of Garcin’s wines, Clos L’Eglise is the most marked by the conditions of the growing season. Clos Floridène, Graves “Cooling mint and blue fruits on the nose. This has an almost thick glossy texture, rich and concentrated. The fruit is clearly ripe and there’s a touch of heat spice on the mid palate giving some strictness but there’s a nice fleshy, almost chewy texture with sticky liquorice, clove and minty spice. It’s not as calm as some but there’s fruit purity and lots of underlying power.” 90 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 332724 $55 St‑Émilion Grand Cru “The 2022 Clos Fourtet is every bit as compelling as it was en primeur , maybe even a bit more so. Vertical and explosive, the 2022 offers a captivating mix of textural opulence and classic structure. The blend is 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. One of the key signatures of Clos Fourtet is the presence of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is rarely seen on the Saint-Émilion plateau but seems to add weight and gravitas here. Dark blue fruits, new leather, spice, menthol and espresso stain the palate… it is without question one of the wines of the vintage.” 99 pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous 332955, 348824 $300

Clos du Marquis, St‑Julien “A scented, fresh and polished Clos du Marquis that shows tension. Medium- to full-bodied, this has blueberries and red berries with attractive minerality. A hint of pencil shavings as well. The tannins are fresh and really chalky and dissolved. 45.5% merlot, 44.5% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc. Superb balance makes it pure, almost a bit ethereal and already inviting, but this should be approached after 2028.” 96 pts, James Suckling 273160 $190 St‑Émilion Grand Cru “A stylish red, with crushed plum and blackberry fruit that shows a plush edge, while black tea, sweet tobacco and plowed earth hints line the understated but persistent finish. Nicely done. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2035.” 92 pts, James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 332943 $95 strawberries and cherries. Clean and clear, this has an immediate brightness from the acidity which then settles with a chalky, iron grip towards the finish. Lots of sticky liquorice and cedar spice which will settle in time. This has mellowed a lot from Primeurs and is now softer and more approachable.” 91 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 372803 $80 Clos René, Pomerol “A ferrous nose with striking aromas of iron,

59 Château La Conseillante, Pomerol
“The 2022 La Conseillante is just as exquisite in bottle as it was en primeur . Wafting from the glass with an exotic bouquet of mulberries, black raspberries and plums mingled with notions of black truffle, burning embers, violets, mint and licorice, it’s full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a fleshy, even unctuous core of fruit underpinned by a broad chassis of sweet, powdery and perfectly integrated tannin. This is the most lavish, sensual La Conseillante of the last decade, with the most texture and density, yet it remains unerringly precise and harmonious. It’s a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.” 100 pts, William Kelley, Wine Advocate 272886, 348811 $650

Le Comte de Malartic, Pessac‑Léognan
“Notes of dark berries, cassis, mulberries and spices preface the 2022 Le Comte de Malartic, a moderately weighted, round and supple Pessac‑Léognan framed by structured tannins and concluding with a gourmand, delicate finish.” 88 pts, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate 348816 $55 Cos d’Estournel, St‑Estèphe “Wow. So intense and spicy with nutmeg, cloves, ink and blackberries. Also asphalt, lead pencil and tobacco. Full-bodied, but at the same time, there’s a real balance giving incredible depth and length. The tannins are all there but are polished as well as firm. Superb structure. A neoclassical Cos, one for long-term aging. Perhaps the best ever. A blend of 61% cabernet sauvignon, 37% merlot, 1% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. Drink after 2030.” 99 pts, James Suckling 272763 $550

63 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou, St‑Julien
“Richly concentrated, this has beautifully presented black fruits with a lovely chewy frame. Feels full and wide in the mouth with tannins that cover the mouth while a layer of cedar and tobacco spice flows underneath. Feels quite serious, it’s structured and has lots of flesh and bones with brooding fruit and lots of oak notes but it feels well constructed and very purposeful. I love the energy and the persistence of flavour and while it’s charged, all the elements really work together. Will be great to approach in five or so years. Tannins are finessed and this also carries acidity which keeps this lifted rather than becoming too heavy.” 94 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 273172 $120
64 La Dame de Montrose, St‑Estèphe “Floral and dark chocolate scents with black berries. Beautifully textured, with grippy tannins, pure fruit and high acidity. Plush, just-chewy blackcurrants and cherries, dark chocolate, liquorice and salty stones. Lifted, minty menthol finish. Balanced, harmonious and confident, nothing overdone. A clear upgrade from en primeur and a standout second wine.” 94 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 273196 $100 65 Château de la Dauphine, Fronsac “Vividly floral with blackcurrant scents and a touch of ink adding to the allure of the nose. Silky smooth with an immediate vibrancy of acidity and bright red berry fruit on the palate. Juicy but also poised, this isn’t brooding or too rich, with finely integrated tannins and a long finish. Sculpted and concentrated while staying sleek and refined. Still too young, not as approachable as some others, but this will reward patience. A great wine.” 93 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 348795 $55

Domaine de Chevalier, Pessac‑Léognan
“Commemorating his 40th harvest at the helm of the estate, Olivier Bernard has crafted a wine of abundant promise. Evoking aromas of dark wild berries, spices, smoke and licorice, framed by a deft touch of new oak, the 2022 Domaine de Chevalier possesses a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and rich palate, with an elegant, fleshy core of fruit, abundant powdery tannins and a long, delicate and dark berry-inflected finish. Noticeably less toasty and spicy than in the previous year, this estate has positively evolved in style. Matured for 18 months in a combination of new (35%) and used barrels, the 2022 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.” 96+ pts, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate 332963 $180 “Floral and nicely scented on the nose, milk chocolate and blackcurrants. Smooth and supple, a nice energy and sense of life to this, with brightness and vibrancy to the sweet strawberry and red cherry fruits also with bite that makes it appealing and moreish.
