Bordeaux 2022 Release

Vins Rouges

102 Château Haut Bergey, Pessac‑Léognan

“The 2022 Haut Bergey offers up aromas of cassis, mulberries, flowers and iris mingled with delicate notes of cassis. Medium to full-bodied, round and juicy, it’s well-balanced and framed by velvety tannins, culminating in a long, fresh and ethereal finish. This is a straightforward Pessac‑Léognan, elegantly crafted.” 91 pts, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate 332836 $60

103 Château Haut-Brion, Pessac‑Léognan (L)

“Dark and brooding aromatics on the nose - blackcurrants, cherries and plums with mint and

graphite accents too. Smooth and so juicy, glorious and joyful on the palate - it bursts with ripe red berry fruit that has a touch of crushed stones and fruit flesh giving a textured mouthfeel. Just feels so enjoyable and really quite approachable now. Fruity, soft, svelte - there’s sinew but no heaviness. It’s sleek and sophisticated, confident but not showy - almost understated. Really fantastic, where LMHB carries a spiced vein with more heat, this is more relaxed and open. Calm and generous in terms of fruit purity with well integrated tannins and wood. Wonderful. Has a delicate charm, layered but really finely presented. 3.83pH. 63% new oak.” 98 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 372704 6 bottle limit $1,600 104 Château Les Hauts de Smith, Pessac‑Léognan “Steeped red currant and dark plum notes form the core, along with sleek, singed accents of alder, bay, tobacco and black tea. A tug of warm earth hangs on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2035.” 92 pts, James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 272945 $70
