Château d’Armailhac, Pauillac “Rich and toasty nose with sun-kissed blackcurrants, liquorice, tobacco, and a touch of tar. Some warmth and baked fruit add a jammy edge. Supple yet lively, with chewy fruit offset by juicy acidity and a salty, powdery minerality. A little tight but appealing, with a fresh minty lift. The 16% Cabernet Franc is unusual for Pauillac but gives a strong backbone. Less clay than the other estates, leaving a richness on the finish that reflects the vintage.” 95 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 327935 $135

Château Arômes de Pavie, St‑Émilion Grand Cru

“Incredibly intense and exotic aromatics - ripe purple fruits, damsons, plums, blackcurrants, and floral notes. Rich red-purple hue. Layers of coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, and clove. Silky yet textured, almost chewy but in a delightful way, filling the mouth with acidity and pure fruit. Bouncy, charming, and well-balanced, with a serious core beneath its playful energy. A long, stylish, and precise finish, with wet stone minerality and a touch of cinnamon and clove reminding of the vintage’s warmth. Flawlessly executed.” 94 pts, Georgina Hindle, Decanter 272859, 357593 $200 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot, St‑Émilion Grand Cru “The 2022 Beau-Séjour Bécot is a total stunner. What a wine! The 2022 was magnificent en primeur , and it is all that from bottle. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. Crushed rose petal, mint, blood orange, new leather and cedar meld into a core of pliant red-toned fruit. More than anything else, I am so impressed with the wine’s precision and finesse. I have never tasted a Beau-Séjour Bécot like this.” 100 pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous 301876, 346227 $180
